Bionic chewing and swallowing integrated robot
Currently, although research on masticatory robots has conducted food mastication experiments, a closed oral environment has not been built, nor has a bionic face and bionic tongue been designed. Therefore, food cannot be fixed well during food mastication. In addition, none of the current mastication robots have a corresponding esophagus part, so it is impossible to continue observing the movement of the food bolus in the esophagus after mastication.

Bionic chewing and swallowing integrated robot
Picture and text details
Current research on masticatory robots, while including food chewing experiments, has not established a sealed oral environment, nor has it designed biomimetic skin and tongues. Therefore, food cannot be effectively secured during chewing. Furthermore, current masticatory robots lack an esophageal component, preventing observation of the bolus's movement within the esophagus after chewing.
Therefore, this product is a biomimetic swallowing and chewing integrated robot for food edibility testing and evaluation, based on the human chewing and swallowing mechanism. By in-depth analysis of the physiological structure of the human stomatognathic system, jaw position, and the biomechanics of occlusal contact, we have optimized the design of biomimetic upper and lower jaws, esophagus, and tongue structures. A biomimetic skin and saliva injection system simulates a sealed oral chewing environment.

Combining the human chewing and swallowing mechanism, this product is mainly used in food performance testing, qualitative and quantitative analysis of swallowing force, exploring the impact of salivary secretion dysfunction on chewing efficiency, and qualitative analysis of special foods for patients with swallowing disabilities. This product can test common foods on the market and special foods prepared by professional disciplines. By changing relevant chewing parameters such as saliva injection volume, chewing force, number of chews, chewing method, and esophageal swallowing force, it can comparatively explore the digestive capacity of different patients for the same food, and the ease of swallowing and chewing of special foods compared to common foods. This can provide new ideas for the production of special foods for patients with swallowing disabilities and provide new indicators for food characteristic rating.
